A Message from the Board
The Board of Directors of the Equamore Foundation are proud to announce that our long-held dream of creating an Equamore owned Sanctuary has become a reality. With funding made available by private benefactors, the newly formed Equamore Sanctuary, LLC, has purchased the former Eden Farm and retained Executive Director Linda Davis to continue her role as manager of the property and of our rescued horses, who have thrived under her skilled care for the last 21 years.
The creation of the Equamore Sanctuary takes one of the country’s longest running horse welfare organizations to a new level of achievement and commitment. In cooperation with our dedicated volunteers, the Board has also adopted a new symbol and slogan, which summarize our mission: “Hungry, Neglected, Abused… Never Again!”
During the last five years, the Board has done more than dream: we have also developed a strong cadre of volunteers and planned new strategies to sustain and expand Equamore’s programs. In the coming months, the foundation will need help—lots of help—to meet its financial milestones and “to provide a safety net for unwanted, abused, abandoned, neglected, and aged horses without alternatives for their care.” Through our programs of giving, you can help us meet and teach our society’s stewardship obligation to provide enlightened care, protection, and kindness to all animals, but especially to horses.
