Today we began a new project for our horses with lameness issues.  Our veterinarian took radiographs of the front feet of Bryant, who was previously diagnosed with Ringbone, Shorty, who was previously diagnosed with Navicular disease, and Magic, who has severe chronic laminitis.  We will add these to recent radiographs of Thor, who has early stage laminitis and thin soles, Sassy who has severe chronic laminitis, and older pictures of Magic.  Bryant’s diagnosis was changed, and it was determined that he, like Shorty, has Navicular disease.  In consultation with our vet, hoof trimmer, and farrier, along with our President who teaches at the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care, we hope to find new approaches to help these horses improve.  We are looking at new supplements, boots, shoes, trim adjustments, new treatments that have become available for Navicular disease….  Stay tuned!
