Today was a big day for RC. While he is still thin and trying to grow his hair back in (hair loss is a key sign of starvation), he is feeling good! The pasture he is in has two parts. There is the lower field where the horses enter and exit from the barn. The frailer horses stay in this area all day. There is also a long run from the lower field to a higher pasture where the more robust horses troop up to find richer grazing. Today for the first time, RC joined Thor, Magic and their entourage in the upper field. Great sign! Eventually we hope that RC will be strong and adventuresome enough to become part of the large gelding herd and enjoy that wonderful pasture. But for now, he is making great progress!
