In 1991, after nearly 16 years of horse rescue at Eden Farm, the Equamore Foundation was established. Having received non-profit status in 1996, it is one of the longest running horse rescue organization in the United States today. We provide sanctuary for equines, as well as assistance to horse owners, education and outreach to help reduce the need for sanctuary.
It has been a vision of the organizers and supporters of the Foundation to one day own this property that has been a safe haven to more than scores of horses. Because of some amazing and caring supporters, on May 1, 2012, that vision became a reality. The 23-acre horse boarding and training facility, formerly known as Eden Farm, is now the Equamore Sanctuary and owned by the horses of Equamore.
The Foundation is at the beginning of a new level of existence, and we need help from more friends and supporters to meet the financial milestones and goals ahead while continuing to provide a safety net for unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and aged horses that are without alternatives for their care. We are determined that through sanctuary, outreach and education, “hungry, neglected abused… never again” can become a reality.
We need your help now! Won’t you please consider becoming a friend and financial supporter of the Sanctuary and the mission of the Foundation?
