Yesterday, I was galloping in the arena with the guys and I ran right out of my boots!  I am Thor!  One boot just flew off, tearing the strap with it.  You should have seen it fly!  Ha!  Imagine my power!  The other came off but was trailing behind me because the strap did not break.  I just kept running!  I love that I can get them off, but like how good my feet feel when they are on!  Choices!

Eventually, I came into the cross ties and the remnants were removed (while I ate alfalfa treats, honeycrisp apples and baby carrots!)

Today, the person that trims my feet came and put metal things on my hooves.  Magic told me they are called “horse shoes” and that they are not supposed to come off!  At first they felt a little funny, but after a few minutes I could tell that they were helping.  Not as much as the boots, but they are a lot less fussy.  We will see.  No doubt I could figure out how to get these off too if I wanted to.  What could be next!  Boots on top of shoes?

Everyone seemed worried that I would go crazy with the noise.  But Magic was there, and I stood like a perfect gentleman while the shoes were attached to my front hooves.  I have chosen to be tame for now, but it will take the people a little more time to trust me.  I hadn’t thought about it before, but I guess that it works both ways.  They waited for me for a year before I started to trust them and decided to be calm.  I guess I’ll give them a little time now to trust me.  Just keep those honeycrisps coming!

I am Thor and I am an Equamore horse.
