Like John Lennon, Dapples and the other ponies in the new Pony Field get by with a little help from their Friends, who’ve made pledges to our “Buy a Bale” and “Rescue Team” programs. It’s easy to become an Equamore Friend or to increase your pledge by calling us or logging on to our web site and choosing the “Donate” button. You can also read the story of one of the rescued horses on our web site and join that horse’s “Rescue Team.” All it takes is a pledge of at least $12 per month, which provides the equivalent of one bale of hay or a week’s worth of food for an average horse. $48 per month pays for a month of hay per horse. Since the Equamore Sanctuary uses the equivalent of a thousand bales per month on horse care, we need a thousand such monthly pledges to live up to the commitment we’ve made to our rescued horses.
