THREE VERY BIG RESCUES

Volunteers Abbey Paiken and Rinchen Thomas lead Diamond and Flint from the fields to their side-by-side paddocks. These two very connected Percherons are in need of knowledgeable care takers willing to give them further training and a forever home together.

This summer the Equamore Foundation helped to convince an owner to surrender a number of Percheron stallions and mares living a nightmare existence in northern California. So many large, powerful, and untrained draft horses living in one enclosure had resulted in the death of at least one mare and an unknown number of foals, with injuries to all the fighting stallions. As of this date, Equamore has gelded all the stallions, and volunteers have placed one of the draft geldings. In addition, the Foundation has taken two geldings and a mare into sanctuary for training and eventual placement into foster care.
