Last month, we lost two of our most beloved horses. Both Johnnie B. Goode and Bader came to Equamore in appalling condition. Both appeared to have recovered, but that recovery was tentative, as it is with most horses who have suffered abuse or neglect.
In 2008 Equamore Foundation created the Oregon Hay Bank to give a helping hand to horse owners in temporary financial crises. The bank stockpiles two kinds of hay: the kind that grows on the ground and the kind that doesn’t grow on trees. OHB is proof positive that a small number of concerned, motivated people can make a difference for those who encounter temporary financial difficulties.
